Forescolor, orange

Forescolor is, just like MDF, a wood fibre board, but unlike MDF, Forescolor has a beautiful, uniform colour throughout the entire board. The colour is eco-friendly and may vary slightly from board to board. The boards are FSC Mix Credit-certified and manufactured using eco-friendly dyes without the use of formaldehyde.

Good to know

The fibres are individually dyed, impregnated and bonded together with an adhesive. Thanks to the board’s composition, the boards are moisture-resistant, which means that, with the correct surface treatment, they can be used in interior design, kitchen units or bathroom fittings.

The boards must NOT be surface-treated with ‘Fynske Olier’ bio-oil or products containing pure linseed oil.

Available in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown, light grey, dark grey and black, in thicknesses of 8 mm, 16 mm and 19 mm.

As Forescolor is a composite product, the colour may vary from sheet to sheet.

Line and surface engraving
Both line and surface engraving are possible on Forescolor. The material takes on a darker shade where the engraving is present. However, surface engraving is only possible in A-sizes.

Avoid burn marks
A protective film on the top and/or underside can be selected as an option when ordering, which helps to prevent the worst soot and burn marks caused by the laser. However, protective film is not available for surface engraving

Laser cutting
Top side – Along the cut line, the wood will take on a slight dark discolouration. This can be prevented by applying foil before cutting. This option can be selected when placing your order.

Edges – The edges will turn brown and may stain. Excess ash can be wiped away with a slightly damp cloth, but the edges will remain black afterwards. Sanding can remove the black edges completely. The thicker the sheet, the darker the edges.

Base – Discolouration will occur on the base after cutting. This usually takes the form of a hexagonal pattern, depending on the surface on which the cutting is carried out. A protective film, which removes most of this, can be selected when ordering. For A-sizes, it is also possible to choose double-sided adhesive tape, which makes it possible to hang the pieces on, for example, a wall without using nails or screws. If the items are heavy, double-sided adhesive tape is not recommended for hanging.

Finishing
Forescolor can be painted, oiled or varnished to protect the surface and edges. However, avoid pure linseed oil and bio-oils from the ‘Fynske Olier’ brand.
